A scene is a named 1920×1080 layout. Drag widgets onto the anchor grid, and the scene becomes a single browser source. Edit the layout afterwards and the source picks the change up within 30 seconds — you never touch your streaming software again.

Sizes are in scene units — a scene is 12 units wide, so 12U × 7U is full width. Every style is the same widget with the same data behind it, so switching look never resets a tally.

Widgets questions

Does it work with my streaming software?

If it can add a browser source, yes. You copy a URL out of the dashboard and paste it in — there is nothing to download and no plugin to install.

What happens if I close my streaming software mid-subathon?

Nothing is lost. The timer, the goals ladder and the credits tally are all kept on our side as events arrive, so subs, cheers and tips still count while the source is closed. The overlay only has to exist on your account.

Can I change the layout without touching my scene again?

Yes. A Catalyst Scene is one browser source, and the page re-checks its layout every 30 seconds, so moving a widget in the dashboard shows up on stream on its own.

I already have StreamElements overlays. Do they still work?

They run as they are. The event shape and session data StreamElements widgets expect are supported, and session data is filled from your real history — so an imported tip goal resumes its running total instead of restarting at zero.

What if a section of the credits roll cannot be read?

It is skipped and the reason is shown on the Controls tab, rather than rolling an empty heading on stream. VIPs in particular needs a Twitch permission most channels have not granted, so it stays skipped until you switch the VIP commands on.

Someone got hold of my overlay URL. What now?

Revoke the URLs from the dashboard and every one of them stops answering at once. New URLs are issued for your scenes and widgets, and you re-paste them.
